指挥家宋羽（周润发 饰）与设计师悦香（林青霞 饰）相识于香港的某个兵马俑展览，二人回家后，便开始常常梦到对方。在梦中，二人不再是以现实中的身份出现，而是幻化成了两千年前的生死相随的恋人……
