在一座远离大都会吵闹喧嚣的平凡小镇，不甚兴旺的兔子山商业街内，生活着一群可爱有趣的人。故事的女主角北白川玉子（洲崎绫 配音）是当地饼店“玉屋”的长女，她性格活泼随和，擅长制作饮食，与对门面饼店“大路屋”的儿子大路饼藏（田丸笃志 配音）是一对青梅竹马，不过两家的爸爸是典型的同行冤家，彼此一见面便战火不断。这一日，玉子在花店意外发现一只会说话的鸟（山崎巧 配音）。鸟自称来自南方，肩负着神秘使命。鸟的到来自然为玉子和周边人的生活增添不少乐趣，而快乐浪漫的青春校园生活又令人心驰神往。
